Important Update on the Harlem Festival of Culture
On September 7, 2023, the Harlem Festival of Culture NYC (HFC) and its original creators, Nikoa Evans and Musa Jackson, filed a lawsuit against Yvonne McNair, Captivate Marketing Group (CMG) and Captivate Productions(CP.)
The lawsuit alleges widespread mismanagement, fraud, and deceptive business practices leading up to and following the cancellation of the HFC on July 28, 2023, which has negatively impacted everyone who played a role in helping to bring the Harlem Festival of Culture to life.
Our central goal with this lawsuit is to seek justice for everyone who has suffered as a result of Ms. McNair’s alleged wrongful conduct by, among other things, compelling her to refund all sponsorship fees, booth fees, ticket sales, and other revenues she diverted into accounts owned or controlled by her companies. Thus far, she has failed to do so.
